Pre K

This program is designed for children who turn 4 by September 1 of the school year. All children entering pre-k must be potty-trained. Four-year-old pre-k is a five-day-per-week class offered on Monday - Friday in the morning or the afternoon. Responsibility for one’s self and actions are highlighted.

The foundational skills in former classes are built upon to ready children for further schooling. This is a time for fine tuning abilities and exploring a variety of creative ways to learn.  An appropriate program for four-year-olds is not a watered down Kindergarten program.  A highly interactive learning center approach provides a model for learning, choosing, and playing.  Pre-K programs reflect an understanding of how children learn by emphasizing active learning, consistent daily routines, and the use of positive behavioral management and assessment strategies. The school readiness goals of the Pre-K program provide appropriate preschool experiences emphasizing growth in language and literacy, math concepts, science, social studies, arts, health and physical development, and social and emotional competence.  There are 4 curriculum related field trips that we take throughout the year as well as special activities planned at school to enhance our studies. The children listen to Bible stories and Bible truths that apply to their lives.
