Three and Four-Year-Old Preschool
This program is designed for children who turn 3 or 4 by September 1 of the school year. All children entering preschool must be potty-trained.Three-year-old preschool is a two-day-per-week class offered on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Four-year-old preschool is a three-day-per-week class offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the morning or the afternoon.
Our 3-and 4-year nursery program seeks to lay the foundation of lifelong learning for our students. "A child's work is his play" is the philosophy behind our curriculum. Our many hands-on activities include cooking, role-playing, singing, reading, listening, graphing, sorting, counting, painting, drawing, exploring patterns, completing puzzles, and much more. With each activity planned, our purpose is to prepare the students for the next phase of learning.
Our 3-year-old classes introduce children to the joy of learning and the routines of a classroom. The teachers plan "theme related" weeks of learning that cover various topics such as colors, wheels, seasons, apples, farm animals, bubbles, zoo animals, etc. The children also listen to stories from the Bible and discuss application to their own lives.
The 4-year-old classes build upon the previous year's knowledge adding the letters of the alphabet, extensive number skills, and many pre-reading activities. There are 4 curriculum related field trips that we take throughout the year as well as special activities planned at school to enhance our studies. The children listen to Bible stories and Bible truths that apply to their lives.
